Newsletter October 30, 2014

I hope you have been enjoying the wonderful fall we have been having in Alberta, sadly now coming to a close. I have had an extremely busy summer, with painting trips to France, the Purcell Mountains, a Bow Lake Artist Residency, Mt Assiniboine and my favorite, Lake O'Hara. So you can see why I have a huge inventory of new plein air oil paintings, which in my opinion are the best I have done to date. I want to show them off to you, so I have arranged a couple of upcoming shows that I hope you will be able to attend!

The first show, which is opening THIS SATURDAY from 2-6pm, is at Midtowne Gallery (9250 Macleod Trail SW -in a little plaza between Rona and the Travelodge on the east side of Macleod Tr). I will have 15 of my new plein air paintings there along with the excellent work of Lorri Pullman MacDonald and Alison Masters. The show is up until November 22nd, so if you cannot make it to the opening (which I hope you will!), perhaps you can drop in to see it later on.

The second show will be held at the Fallen Leaf Gallery in Canmore (102-822 Main Street). The opening will be held on Friday December 5 and a Meet & Greet is scheduled for Saturday Dec 6th. After the weekend, an assortment from the show will be displayed in the gallery for the entire month, please ask to see other paintings from the show if interested. I will send out the invitation as soon as I get a copy.

I will also be having a selection of miniature paintings specially priced for Christmas gift giving at the CAVA gallery in Edmonton during December.

In gallery news, I am sorry to say that I have left my beloved Art & Soul Gallery in High River for the time being, but am THRILLED to be represented by Just Imajan Gallery in Cochrane. The gallery is a very unique space filled with all things wonderful, and is well worth a trip, and Mackay's Ice Cream shop is just down the street.

I have also been working on updating my website to put up some of these new plein air paintings, as well as new encaustic, mixed media and collage paintings. The newsletter sign-up link on the site is now finally working, so if you know someone who might be interested, please forward this email to them and then they can sign up as well. Thanks!

As the holidays are approaching, please note that my two DVD's ("Watercolour Workshop" and "Plein Air Watercolour") are available through the shop on my website, as is a downloadable copy of my book, "En Plein Air -One Artists' View".

I want to wish you all the very best of blessings for Christmas and for the New Year ahead. And thank you for your continued interest and support of my art.
