Celebrate With Me!

My new website is now live!

My beautiful daughter Rebecca gave me a wonderful gift this Christmas: a new online presence. I am very proud of the look of the new site, and the only thing I regret is how much time and effort it has cost her to bring all my online dreams to reality (instead of working on her PhD!). To help me celebrate, I am offering a special discount for all items in the new shop at a 10% discount. Simply navigate to the 'Shop', select what you might like - from a digital download of my book (new), one of 2 watercolour DVD's, or even a painting, and when you go to check out, enter the coupon code "celebrateslw" in the coupon box. The discount will be calculated and you will be able to pay with a credit card using the extremely secure 'Stripe' platform. All very professional if I say so myself!  Please let me know what you think of the website, especially if you have any problems viewing or navigating it - it may still be a work in progress...

While I have your attention, I thought I would bring you up to date with some upcoming shows and events:

I am happy to be in the Leighton Art Centre's Annual Members show April 12-May 10. I have had several art submissions rejected this winter (ah, the ups and downs of being an artist...), so I figured I would hedge my bets with the Leighton application, and entered a plein air oil painting, a collage, and an encaustic painting. Imagine my surprise when all THREE of them were accepted! Gotta love the irony.

I WAS accepted into the spring Calyx Distinctive Arts Show to be held at the Crescent Heights Community Centre (1101 - 2nd St NW) on Saturday April 26th. This is a great show featuring 25 different artists each day, with beautiful art and high end fine crafts including paintings, textiles, wood working, fine jewellery, ceramics and much more. Calyx has become a 'happening' with most people trying to make it both days. Quite the feast of eye candy.

More good news! I was thrilled to learn that three plein air oil paintings were accepted into the Calgary Stampede Western Art Gallery this July. This will be my third year accepted into this fierce competition -it is wonderful to have my work viewed by such a huge audience.

I also hope to have new paintings for the next Federation of Canadian Artists show on May 3 at the Haysboro Community Hall. I better get busy making some new paintings!!

Thank you so much for following me on this wonderful creative journey - your support means the world to me. This art life is filled with soaring highs and crashing lows, but the thrill of the next new adventure keeps me coming back for more, and sharing it with you closes the creative circle.

I hope to see you at a show, on my website or commenting on my blog, on Facebook, or perhaps you will bump into me painting outside somewhere. I wish you all a fabulous spring -yes, it WILL come, I hope!

Blessings,

Sharon
